Alright everyone, so I've been at college for a little over a month now! It's time I started blogging about my experiences. Last week, my roomy and I went shopping together for the first time. We're too poor to buy things like ice cream; you can see us pouting in the pictures. But no ice cream for us poor starving college students... no, no, no.
Then we brought our groceries home to make our first ever Roomy Dinner together. We decided to make chicken pillows and rice. For those of you who don't know what chicken pillows are, here are some pictures. Basically, you mix chicken, cream cheese, mushrooms, and whatever else you want together and wrap it in crescent roll dough. We also made some yummy brown rice with mushrooms to go with it. Overall, it was a great success!
However... It's always very important to remember if you got ALL of your food out of the oven and turned it off when you were finished... if you see what I mean... The next morning, we woke up to black, charcoal rocks and a disgusting smell floating through the entire apartment. Frankly, it's a miracle we didn't burn the place down, or at least set off some fire alarms.
Last week also happened to be Homecoming week up here at USU. There were tons of things going on and I wish I'd had more time to do more of the activities, but I was also pretty busy studying for an Archeology test, so I did what I could.
Brad came up for the weekend and we went to the completely crazy Homecoming dance. He almost made me a True Aggie.. but I sort of chickened out on that one. On Saturday, Brad did an awesome barbeque and lots of people from my floor came to party with us. Ha ha. He grilled steaks and we cooked shrimp as well. It was my friend Jill's first time eating steak (no, she says she did not live under a rock before now) and she refused to eat shrimp.

USU, Here I Am!

Yesterday, I moved up to Logan, to attend USU!! I've been waiting for this day for a while, and I was so excited to come up here. My mom, Nana, and Brad helped me move into my apartment, and my mom and Nana went crazy setting everything up just the right way! My roomie isn't here yet, but two girls who share a room are here, Veronica and Kylie. They're really great, so I hope we will have fun sharing the apartment! I put up some pictures of my room. It's small, but really cute. My first class starts tomorrow, and the rest start on Monday. I'm so excited, and can't wait for everything so begin!

The Last Battle

Once upon a time... I picked up the first Pendragon novel, The Merchant of Death. I actually stole it from a boy's desk (he was in the bathroom at the time) while in my eighth grade math class. That's the story of how Pendragon brought me and one of my oldest friends, Jeff, together because he said I could borrow it. I kept reading the series, up until number four, because there weren't any others out yet. Then, in ninth grade, all the rest of my friends started reading the series, too. My boyfriend Jason (who was back then the boy I had a crush on) and I traded books; I let him borrow my Pendragon books and he let me borrow his Ender's Game series.
From that moment on, we all traveled together to the book store each time the next book was released. It's a really big tradition for my little group of friends, especially since we all were separated to different high schools after junior high. This year it was just me and Jeff. Jason's on his mission, Karli is in Florida, and everyone else was at school. It wasn't quite the same, but it is the last Pendragon book, so we both still found joy in it.
While I read it, Karli and I were constantly texting each other, in surprise over every little thing that happened! This last installment was everything I ever hoped it would be; shocking and fast-paced, while still answering every question I had wondered about since the very beginning and living up to each of my expectations.
The Pendragon series is one of my favorites; actually, #2 right after Harry Potter. It's such a wonderful story, from beginning to end. And it's been such a big part of my life for such a long time, just like Harry Potter was. I'm sad and happy that it's ended. This is the sort of series I can read over and over, just because it's so good. So if any of you are looking for a good series of books to read, I definitely recommend the Pendragon series! Mother's Day!

So today was Mother's Day! I admit, at first I was really nervous because I had no idea what to do for my mom. I think we all worry about that. But these last few months have been pretty difficult and stressing for all of us, especially my mom, who is doing the single mother thing now. I love my mom! She'll be reading this at some point, so Mom, I love you! You've been the best mom and just like the card I got you says, so much of the woman I am is because of you. :) You rock! Ha ha
Kira and I made Mom breakfast this morning, just some pancakes and eggs. Pretty good though, if I do say so myself. I got my mom, my grandma, and both my aunts each a different flower/plant from the greenhouse at the gardens where I work. I also got Mom some things she'd been asking for, like Bob's Yoga video and water bottle with a few boxes of crystal lite drink mixes. And of course, dark chocolate, her fave. We spent the evening at my Aunt Amy's house with everyone and it was really great to be together as a family. We even got almost every one to play Guitar Hero! As you'll see in the pictures. :)

Ha! Worst "Blogger" Ever...

Yep, that would be me. However, as of now, I am striving to be a great blogger and to keep my blog constantly updated! So here is an update of what has been happening...
This month has been very busy. I'm back at work at Thanksgiving Point Gardens as a garden cashier and Segway trainer extraordinaire. :) This past two weeks have been especially busy, what with it being the Tulip Festival and all. Here are a few pictures of the gorgeous flowers we have blooming in the gardens... It is amazing out there and soon I'll be uploading more pictures!
Also this week, one of my bestest old friends, Karli Sue, is leaving to go to Florida for the summer! We had a girls' night out last night, since we wont see each other til the fall... But I hope she has fun in Florida!
